Review: Rimmel London Fix and Perfect Foundation Primer
About a month ago, I was sent the Rimmel London Fix and perfect Foundation Primer. I had actually previously purchased it two days before receiving it. When I opened the package, I was glad to see it there, because I absolutely LOVE this product! The product is 1 fl oz or 30 ml, which is the average size of a drugstore or department store foundation. The product claims to: smooth skin, minimize pores, even out complextion, and prolong the wear of your foundation. This is ALL true. This product ranges from 6-8 dollars at your local drugstore. This is one of the cheapest (not in a bad way) drugstore foundations, and should last you about the same amount of time as your 1 oz liquid foundation, because you use about the same amount of it as you would foundation. Although the formula is a peachy/pink color, it mostly blends into your skin as a moisturizer would. I have combination oily skin, which means that I am oily mainly in my T-Zone, and normal in all other areas of my face. I was afraid that the product would break me out... an it didn't. I am not sure how this product would work for people with dry skin, but for me it works amazingly! As you probably know, I go to school for about eight hours a day, and normally my makeup looks completely different at the end of the day compared to when I put my makeup on in the morning. This will happen pretty much no matter what. Once I started using this primer, I was amazed at the fact that my makeup and T-Zone were still looking matte (not oliy) by the time that I came home from school. I did a little test on this product, to see how well it worked. The first day that I got it, I did not use it. I did my makeup as I always do, and when I got home from school, I did not touch up my makeup as I usually do. Before I went to bed I went into my bathroom to wash my face, and before I washed it, I took my makeup remover wipe, any removed all of my face makeup. Then I set it aside (I did not throw it away), and continued on with my cleansing routine. The next day, I used the foundation primer, and then continued on with my day, and when I got home, I did not touch up my makeup. I waited until it was time for bed, and took my makeup remover wipe and removed all of my face makeup. I waited a day for it to dry, and then compared the two wipes that I had saved. One had been using the foundation primer, the other hadn't. The wipe that had been with the foundation primer had at least twice the product that the other wipe had. Let me explain. Without the primer, my foundation and other facial makeup comes off throughout the day, of course there was still some makeup on my face before I went to bed, but not nearly as much as I had applied to my face in the morning. When I used the primer, about 92% of the product stayed on my face until night, and without it it was around 45%. Of course there was more product on my face with the primer, but you only apply a thin coat of it, so it shouldn't have made that much of a difference. I threw away the wipes, and have been using the foundation primer ever since. Warnings. If you wear powder foundations, then this might not be the product for you, because the formula is peach colored, and your powder foundations might not give you enough coverage to hide the primer. Also, this product does not contain any SPF, so if you are not wearing AT LEAST SPF 15 daily, then you need to start. This will prevent skin cancer, and pre-mature wrinkles, you need to prevent now, not cure later. Lastly, this primer makes you foundation give you fuller coverage, so if you only like light to medium coverage, this is probably not for you. All in all, I am very happy with this primer! I will recommend it to you, and continue to recommend it to anyone who asks! Thanks for reading.
