Okay. So I live in "L.A.", and it poured rain ALL day yesterday. I started off my morning normally and straightened my hair. This was an obvious mistake. The entire day I was hiding under my umbrella and my hood to attempt to keep my hair straight.
Here is what I wish I would have done.
Hair. Start off by taking a shower the night before. You want to use a deep conditioner because that will keep your hair from frizzing in the high humidity. Once you are out, you will want to quickly brush out and part your hair. I would recommend a deep side part. Then take a hair gel or - my personal favorite - spray gel. You will want to scrunch your hair together into a messy bun. Let it dry in the bun, and then carefully, let it out. Apply the gel all over the hair and a very fine amount onto the top of your head. Don't use too much or it might look greasy! Then braid your hair into one long braid with the gel intact. And you are done!
Clothes. First of all, a day when it rains is NOT a day when you should be wearing shorts or a skirt. Wear blue jeans that are dark wash, because that way when they get wet, the water won't show. Wear whatever kind of shirt you want and try to wear some sort of sweatshirt or coat with a hood. This will save you in the end.
Makeup. I recommend wearing a tinted moisturizer instead of powder or liquid foundation, because that will not droop off your face if it gets wet. Of course wear waterproof mascara and eyeliner, and wear cream shadows instead of powder. But make sure that you use an eyeshadow primer so that the shadows don't end up creasing. Try something daring like a red or berry lip. That will immediately brighten the day.
Accessories. As far as shoes and accessories go, wear shoes that you don't really care about or rain boots. The only accessory you might need is a scarf, and an umbrella which is a must-have!
That is really it, so if you have any other questions, or comments on this then don't be afraid to leave them in the comments section or find a way to contact me through the "Contact Me" page on my official website.
