Hi everyone! Just a quick post today, because I have to get to class in a few minutes, but here's something that I have sort of mixed opinions on: adults when it comes to teen issues. Yes, I definitely respect them, and yes, they aren't always wrong, but why (a lot of the time) do they seem to just not get it?
I mean, obviously it makes sense that they aren't as up to date on teen issues as we are, but how come they tend to just be completely wrong? I hate to generalize, because I literally just finished speaking with an adult about a teen issue, and I had a blast talking with her. But I guess what I'm really wondering is: if a lot of adults aren't fully grasping teen issues, then why don't teens step up and start talking about it? Obviously some are, but why is it that when there is a bullying, drug, sex, or drinking issue in a school, adults are the ones who come to speak about it?
Yes. They've been here longer. And yes. It's highly likely that they experienced very similar things as teenagers. But a lot of the time, if they make one wrong remark or mistake in their speeches or talks, kids will totally disregard everything that they're saying. Because it's easy. It's easy to make fun of an adult or just laugh with you friends and think they don't even understand what I'm going through anyway! But when it's another teen standing in front of you, it's different. I don't know why, because teens bully and disrespect other teens, but for some reason, when it comes to teen issues, most (but not all) teens would rather hear it from a peer.
That's why I'm so passionate about speaking my mind on teen issues. Because I feel like right now, while I still am a teen, is the best time - and maybe... the only time. I'd love to hear your opinions on this! Like I said, I'm not saying this about all adults, and I'm not saying this about all teens either. I hope you've been liking these blog posts more often! They're fun for me, and frankly, are what I find fun to do in a free moment, which is exactly what I did today! I love you all, I really do! Be happy :)
PS: Waking up doesn't mean your dreams are over, it means it's time to make them come true :)
I have been adding new pages to this website, and I was just wondering what pages you would like me to add to it, because in order for me to add a new page, I have to eliminate one, because the side bar where it shows all of the pages can get really full sometimes, and it will make the proportions of the rest of the website become very strange looking. I am going to add a uniform proof back to school outfit soon. But I want to add a picture, and I can't do that if I am not at my own computer (which I am not). You should check out the new contest that I have added to the website... I have to go now, but I will write back soon! Comment with suggestions!
Reviews. As most of you guys know, my daily outfits have stopped for the summer, and will resume in early September. But what I will be doing during the rest of summer and the school year is reviewing products. You can see these reviews on the "Reviews" page here on my website! Check it out!!!
Okay, this is just going to be a blog explaining why I haven't been updating the website for a while. I was going to go back and try to make up all of the blog entries that I missed, but it was taking too long to catch up, so I am going to be updating again every single day starting today.
I could tell you that Donna Karen kidnapped me and took me to New York for fashion week, but I don't want to lie to you, so I am going to give you a very detailed explanation for why I haven't been updating the website that much.
Okay, so I got out of school on around June 20th. I came home and instead of writing in my blog, skimmed through my new Seventeen Magazine and read the letter from the Editor in Chief, Ann Shoket. In the letter, it said that if anyone was to write her an old-fashioned snail mail letter, then she would definitely respond. So, I wrote a letter telling her all about my website (this one), and how I got the inspiration for it, and I also told her about a few of my readers (you!), and asked her if my website could be featured on seventeen.com, or in the magazine.
I do realize that hundreds of girls probably wrote her letters and she did promise to write everyone back, so I know that it will be a little while before the letter comes, but I sent it about 3 weeks ago, so I expect it in about 2 more weeks. When the letter comes, I will write another blog all about the letter, and the content of the letter.
For the next week we had family, and we were sort of getting used to summer, so I got only a few blog entries done. That weekend, I convinced my Mom to take my friend, Camila, and me to IMATS (the International Makeup Artist Trade Show). It was amazing, but there is already an entire page on this website about IMATS, so I don't really want to say too much about it.
I brought my Flip Video Camera, and recorded the entire time that I was at IMATS, so when I got home, I went through the entire video (53 minutes long because I ran out of memory), and turned the video into a bunch of pictures, and then made the entire page on the website about IMATS, and posted all of the pictures there. Oh, by the way, if you click on the pictures on the IMATS page, you will enlarge them.
Then, one of my friends suggested that we should go on a HUGE shopping spree at Ulta. If you don't know what Ulta is, then look up: ulta.com. So, we each had a month to save up as much money as we could for our Ulta shopping spree, but then I had an accident with my money, and had to start from scratch with saving up. Just so you know, I am paying for the entire cost of the products that I purchase at Ulta, except for one item that my Mom promised she would get for me.
I have been saving up money, and I am almost at my goal. I will be doing a whole blog entry on Ulta too, so you will be able to know how well each product works.
I felt really guilty about the fact that I was not blogging, so I am starting to blog again.
If you read this entire super long blog entry, then you should know that the winner of the OPI Nail Polish contest in the shade, "My Chiuahua Bites", is entrant #3, whose name is Lauren. She is going to be emailed. I am not picking favorites, I use random.org to generate the winners to all of the contests. The new contest will be up soon.
If you don't understand the instructions on how to enter the contests, then email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org. Oh, and entering a bunch of times will give you a greater chance of winning the prize.
This is my blog! For every bit of randomness that comes out of my head... read on :)
