Today was my first ever day at VidCon! Isn't that crazy?! I've been on YouTube for almost four years now, and this is my first time going! Anyway, here's how my day went.
Being that it was my first time going, and because Michael is at camp, my mom came with me (my mom and I are really close, so that was no problem for me). I think that she really wanted to see what it would be like, and she also wanted someone there to secure me. I know that sounds weird haha, but due to the fact that my channel has grown so much this year, she always wants someone big and scary to be there when I'm in public to protect me. My mom isn't really very big or scary... but she's definitely bigger than me. Most of the time Michael comes with me to YouTube events (meet ups, conventions, etc.), but he's at camp, so he's obviously not available. But I can definitely say that he's disappointed that he couldn't come. He really wanted to go to VidCon! Maybe next year :)
My mom and I got a late start because she was taking forever this morning! Once we got on the road (an hour late) to Anaheim, we didn't hit much traffic (which was great). We arrived at the convention center, parked, and then started asking around to find out where registration was. After receiving our badges, we kind of walked around aimlessly. There were so many people and today there wasn't much to do. I guess Thursday is mainly Q+As, and then all of the panels happen on Friday and Saturday. We stood in line for a Q+A for a little while, but then decided that we were hungry and wanted to walk around a bit more and explore. After leaving the line and getting some food, we sat down and ate lunch outside of the convention center doors.
I know that I already said it, but there were so many people! Joey Graceffa kept walking in and out of the convention center, and each time he would walk by, a crowd of screaming girls (and guys too) would start running (yes: running) after him. Honestly, I'd probably be in that crowd too (who doesn't love Joey?), but he's in my YouTube network, and goes to a lot of the same StyleHaul events as me, so I figured that I'll get to meet him eventually. And there was no way that I was going to run in heels...
We walked around a bit more, met a few YouTubers (but not as many as I would've thought), and then went home early. Tomorrow morning we're planning to attend a Michelle Phan (my idol) Q+A, so we're getting there very early. I came home, took a nap, ate some more, did some filming and editing, and now I'm writing this!
I don't post on here very often, but it's fun for me, so if you guys are actually reading this, then leave a comment on this post so that I know that people really do care haha. Also, let me know if you want to see more blog posts! Since it's summer, I can try to do them daily, or at least a few times a week. But I won't put in the time if no one's going to read them.
I love you guys, I really do. Have a nice night, and let me know if you're going to be at VidCon either tomorrow or on Saturday! Goodnight, princesses :) be happy!
PS: Waking up doesn't mean your dreams are over, it means it's time to make them come true :)
This is my blog! For every bit of randomness that comes out of my head... read on :)
